Description
The founder of the state was Amir Khan, an adventurer of source source, turned into a military leader for the Marathha. In 1806, he received the state of Tonk from the Marathha and in 1817 after the third Anglo-Charatha war, he submitted to the British, maintaining the state and the title of Nawab. In 1947, Nawab decided to join India, forming most of its territory part of Rajasthan.
