Description

With the victory in the battle of Pavón, the Argentine Republic is consolidated as a country, theoretically federal, but with the unwavering leadership of Buenos Aires, where the capital of the previous Paraná moves, leaving the national government, very subject to the premises. Thus, Argentina quickly joined world trade, as an agri -food exporter, especially grain and meat towards the British market, the largest empire of the time. Also from the beginning the expansion was carried out throughout the territory, depriving the rights to indigenous peoples. The important economic growth favored new immigration currents from Europe, especially Spaniards and Italians. The crisis of 1929 put the economic model in crisis, when world demand fell, and an industrial import replacement model began. In 1930 there was a coup d”etat that would begin a long series, almost uninterrupted until the arrival of Perón to power. Perón was a populist, who took his government with social reforms, but who terribly polarized the population. In any case, after the overthrow of Perón, with proscribed Peronism, but very alive in the union field, there were more blows of state until 1973, which again could appear to the elections, winning them. But in 1976 there was a new military coup, supported by the US, which would forgive until its fall after the defeat in the Falklands War. This military government also terribly terribly the country, considering the 80s as in other countries of the Southern Cone, an authentic decade of economic loss. Since then in any case, since it is going through a crisis after another, without the economy, has responded to the growth expectations that were. In the numismatic field, it is a very long time, in which it begins with emissions in copper, silver and gold, with the weight of silver equal to 100 cents, and the golden Argentine, equal to 10 pesos. Already in the twentieth century with the weight-based system, the cuproniquel, bronze-aluminum, steel … in 1970 begin to appear … In 1970 the reform with 100 old pesos = 1 new weight is carried out, and in 1983 with the Tiring inflation, a new reform is made with 10,000 pesos = 1 Argentine weight. Despite the end of the dictatorship, it is not possible to control inflation, and again in 1985, 1,000 Argentine pesos = 1 southern, and finally a new weight is introduced in 1992, which will already be more stable.
