Description

With the Treaty of Paris, all New Brunswick goes to British control and a multitude of immigrants from other areas of America and the United Kingdom arrived. After the American revolution, more than 10,000 loyalists also established themselves in the vicinity of Fundy Bay. The New Brunswick colony formally founded in 1784 as a split of Nova Scotia. The beginning of the 20th century was very prosperous with the export of wood and the construction of ships. The American civil war further encouraged this last sector. In 1848, as Nova Scotia shortly before, the responsible government reached, that is, the ruling council was responsible to the elected representatives of the people. The American Civil War was a touch of attention to the possible problems they could find, and a certain concern began to avoid chaos produced in the southern neighbor. In this way the Charlottetown conference was organized in 1864 that would be the germ of the Canada Confederation. In 1867 New Brunswick joined the Canada Confederation with Nova Scotia and the province of Canada.
