Description

Nova Scotia is a peninsula, which was initially colonized by France, Nova Scotia passes to the British colony as a result of the Paris treaty that ended the 7 -year war. After the US War of Independence, the population with the arrival of loyalists to the crown increased. Nova Scotia was the first British colony to reach the responsible government in 1848, that is, the ruling council was responsible to the elected representatives of the people, and was fed up in 1867 to form the domain of the Canada. During the American secession war, its economy grew rapidly, since as a neutral country it negotiated both with the north and southern. Numismatically speaking, this period is the issuance of unofficial files in 1823 and 1832 (issued by the government of Nova Scotia without the British approval) and officers in 1856. The abundance of both government and merchant files, was due to the lack of an official currency by the British authority, and to the permanent lack of current for this same reason. It is noteworthy that the issuance of files of 1832 is in the name of King Jorge IV, when Guillermo had been in power for two years.
