Description

With the Constitution of 1886, the federalism of the previous stage is ended, turning to an absolute centralism. Soon, the US economic interests, besieged the young republic and forced the excision of Panama in 1903. The economy later developed, first under the conservatives and then with the liberals. In 1932, the border conflict with Peru was diplomatically resolved, after a war outbreak. The years after World War were of great political rivalry. In the 60s, the country is very divided by revolutionary bursts, and by the drug trafficking that will grow dramatically in the 80s, partly reaching these divisions until this day
