Description

The 1866 Austro-Prussian war ended with the German Confederation formed after the Napoleonic wars. It was replaced by the German Confederation of the North that excluded Austria and its partners. After the victory in the Franco-Prussian war, the nationalist exaltation caused the other states to join this confederation, and a few days later the Parliament approved the change of name to “German empire”, granting the title of Emperor to the King of Prussia , William. Until 1890, Bismarck”s policy will allow the economy to grow, also maintain provocations and isolation, which will lead to World War I.
