Description

Western Germany, was the common way of calling the German Federal Republic, a government that existed between May 23, 1949 and October 3, 1990 in which German unification occurred. The German Federal Republic was founded in 1949, the result of the union of the areas under British, French and American control, in full resurgence of the Cold War (the Berlin Air Bridge of 1948-49) and soon emerged as an economic power of First level, in what was known as the German miracle of the 50s. In fact, it was probably the resurgence of the Cold War and the Korean War, who convinced the US that they were necessary powerful allies to overcome communism, and more ambitious policies were applied both in Japan and Germany. With the collapse of the communist countries of Eastern Europe, the decade of the 80 Western, thus forming a new united republic.
