Description

Delhi”s sultanate was an Islamic empire based on Delhi, created from the conquest by Muhammad de Gur, of the Gurida dynasty. At his death in 1206, his empire disintegrated, being founded by the Sultanate of Delhi by one of his general slaves he had left in charge of the area. Five dynasties will rule in the sultanate throughout its duration, being the first Mameluca. The Khalji revolt that will end the Mamluks, will imply the transit of the power of the Turks to the nobility of Muslim Indians. A stage of conquests will begin southern, reaching maximum territorial expansion with the Tughlaq dynasty. From this moment on, there will be a setback, due to the response of the Hindués kingdoms such as Vijayanagar, and for splits such as the Bengal Sultanate. It was destroyed and largely replaced by the Mughal Empire after the Battle of Panipat in 1526.
