Description

In 1668, the Eastern Indies Company established by Cardinal Richelieu in 1642, established its first settlement in India. In 1673 they were established in Pondicherry, but in 1693 they are expelled by the Dutch. France recovers the area, thanks to the Ryswick Treaty in 1699. Until 1741, the French interests were properly commercial, and led by enthusiasm managers, expanded the areas of influence and trade. In 1741 Joseph François Duppleix arrives, as a new governor, with ambitions to create a colonial empire, which will soon collide with British interests. Until its dismissal in 1754, the tension with the British anger in continuous increase. The intrigues continued and the French instigated Bengal”s Nawab to attack the British, but they were defeated in 1757, and the British took control of every Bengal. The attempts to recover the loss, ended the destruction of British hands of Pondicherry in 1761. In 1765 he is returned to France again by the peace treaty of 1763, and his reconstruction begins, but the company of the Indies is abolished by the Corona, unable to deal with debts.
