Description
The Maitraka dynasty arises in Gujarat when the Gupta empire weakens. Thus a governor begins the new dynasty with capital in Vallebhi. With the only exception of a ruler follower of miterism, the entire dynasty followed the Shivaist tradition. The dynasty created an important university, and it is known that the Arab attacks by sea weakened the kingdom largely. However, there is no record of how the dynasty ended.
