Description

The origin of the state is who was viceroy of the Mughal Empire in the Decan and that from 1724 it becomes independent taking the title of Nizam. With the decay of Mughal power, the Marathha became important, invading the State frequently, which forced the regular payment of a tribute. For this reason, Hyderabad soon entered treatment with the British, paying the presence of their troops initially. In 1798, Hyderabad was the first state to fimar a treaty that put the State under British protection. In this way, Hyderabad was a British ally in the Marathha wars, and remained loyal to the United Kingdom in the great rebellion of 1857. With an area higher than that of the United Kingdom and a high population, Hyderabad was the richest state in India, and the Nizam was the richest person in the world in the 30s of the S.XX. With the independence of India, he wanted to become an independent kingdom, but by his central position in the Decan and its importance, he was invaded by India and formally dissolved in 1948. Hyderabad was the only princely state with his own currency, Hyderabad”s ruperabad since 1918. It was divided into 16 Annas such as Indian rupee.
