Description

Due to the permanent lack of circulating in Ireland, the Bank of Ireland decided to issue chips in good money, which de facto became currency. Not being able to officially issue currency, these chips were made in non -common denominations (5, 10 pence and 6 chelines) to avoid being persecuted by the falsification law. They were coined in the Royal Mint in London in their correct weight according to the Sterling standard.
