Description
The colonies of the Strait, were a series of colonial enclaves that in 1867 became dependent directly on London, instead of the British Indian government. These enclaves were Penang, Dingdings, Malacca and Singapore. The colonial governor managed the region with the help of an Executive Council and another legislative. In 1941 the colonies fell under Japanese control and after the war the colony was dissolved.
